Joy's Pictures

Am going to put here some of Joy's pictures from our recent trip as she has a better camera than me - and can zoom more - plus a few more of me! Some am having a "very bad hair day" because there was either no water or brown water to wash in! Enjoy

The most beautiful bird in Africa

Hornbill

Hammer Cock bird - look at its amazing head!

Just some of the beautiful weavers that are here

This one was at our window wanting chips to eat

Dancing with the ladies who are being helped look after orphans - they are all grandmothers and very very poor

Being given a sarong as a gift

Joy and I at the equator

Love this pic - she is one of the "guardians" of her grandchildren

welcoming us

They look just like Pumba on Lion King - really funny

T-shirt given - highlighting the issue of female circumcision - even though it is illegal it is still practiced

speaking with teh ladies - really bad hair day!

standing up in the sunroof of the car looking for wildlife - awesome

yep we had to push the car out - and succeeded

This was a dessert when we sent to a nice restaurant with friends for their birthday - Lime pie - really yum - and look at the chocolate writing - even put their names on the plate

I wanted to scare the birds to make them fly! so went really close to them - they only flew a little way so I mustn't be that scarey!

First group of women we visited who are affected by HIV either they have it, they are looking after children/family who have it and have children to look after - support group

Beautiful type of guinea fowl - irridescent blue

On the verandah of the Abadeer mountains lodge we stayed in - was very cold

This is the boy who had his leg amputated with cancer at 12 - he is now 20 - his parents didn't want him so Ian (the man on the right) took him into his orphanage and has him in school. This is where I will be going after the Safarie

Kudu
