Day 2 - Nakuru Park

Powerful waterfall - but the water was rather dirty.
Well day 2 has ended and I am rather tired so will try for an early night if I can get this done quickly. Will let the pics tell the story - was there for 10 hours in the Park driving around so saw quite a bit. Many different aspects to the Park - beautiful place, and the Pelicans were amazing! To say nothing of the rhino, lions, etc, etc - check out the pics.

yep we got bogged in it - but luckily 4WD helps to get out

Crowned Crane

A herd of gazelle - with lots of babies

Yes I saw lions - were a bit boring really just laid there. The other car we were with saw about 4 more as we went a different direction, but they were just as boring. Will see more in the Masai Mara hopefully a bit more active.

Marabou Stork - big ugly carion eating bird - lots of them around

This is how close I was to this beautiful water buck

Water Buck - just sitting there waiting for us to come.

Herd of zebra in the trees - beautiful sight

Sunset over the lake

Spoonbills - their red heads are beautiful - especially when they fly

Pelicans Galore

There were 1,000's of Pelicans - yellow beaks and huge - a wonderful sight with hippo in the water behind

Pelicans washing in a fresh stream coming into the salt lake, to wash the salt off their wings so they can fly better

Highlight of the day - a pair of rhinos just a few metres from us

Lying peacefully just a few feet away

He wanted to have his way with her but she obviously wasn't particularly interested LOL

MMM what was I going to do!

Not my favourite pictures - baboon eating a baby gazelle - I knew there was a reason I didn't like them!
